I apologize for the extremely long delay since my last update. Life has been busy since I made the decision to remain in Fort Dodge to teach, work in the office, cook and take Spiritual Warfare Counseling classes for one more school year. While doing all these things, I am still working with foster kids aging out to adulthood.
Kaden, one of the young men that I led to Christ moved out of my coverage area. I am praying that either he can move back to my area, or he can move to a nearby town that has a good church. Rambo, who I also led to Christ, is currently working towards getting off alcohol and doing well with it. I am working towards moving him into Fort Dodge so he will have access to three Christian counseling opportunities. Please pray that either his PO or the judge will make this possible.
Please pray for Kaleb, Katie, and their baby, Kendyl. Kendyl needs a heart transplant. At the same time, Kaleb is in a court case, and Katie is due any day with their second baby. She has had some trouble with blood pressure, most likely due to the stress. Please pray God uses this to bring them to Him.
Please pray for me to continue to have opportunities to witness to the young people in my care. I had a good meeting with another client and two other Christian ladies. I do not know what their church background is, but one told me she is not afraid to share her faith. These two ladies are connecting my client with a local chapter for their group. Please pray that this will lead my client to a saving knowledge of Christ. I have several new clients, and I am hoping to get the opportunity to share Christ with them soon.
Please pray for me in this foster care advocacy. Since I got into trouble for sharing my faith, even though I was actually following the protocols, I have felt like I need to walk on eggshells for everything. I passed my specialized training, but I am still on probation until September 18. I have had a few paperwork issues which have caused my supervisor to question whether I can do the job. Even though my client count is down right now, I feel like their needs have escalated. That and the busyness of preparing for the start of the college year, have kept me up late many nights. Please pray that I can sleep well so that I do not have brain fog in the mornings.
In the last few months, I have had three ladies come to me to pray about their children. In some ways it feels as though God is validating a step of faith I have taken, but even though I have a lot of head knowledge about rearing kids... I am not a mom, and sometimes I feel inadequate to know exactly what to tell them. I keep pointing them back to our pastor for counseling. We have begun focusing on praying for the young people in our church as well as those who lead them.
Please pray as I continue to serve in the ministries here. Summer is extremely busy here, and I have not been able to plan any activities for the young ladies between 20 and 40. I am hoping to be able to work with another lady who also has a desire to be a blessing to people. Through encouragement...
Please pray for three conferences that our church will host. The first in October called Ignite Youth Conference is a missions conference geared toward teens. The second is a King James Bible conference in December, and the third is the Spiritual Warfare Conference in the spring. Our pastor has been preaching strong on holy living, the holy spirit, and the KJV over the last several months. It is obvious that God is trying to move among the people because Satan is stirred up. Pray for Pastor Smith and his wife.
I still have a goal of going to the mission field by hopefully the end of May. This may be contingent on when my nephew Joel has his next heart surgery which will be sometime in the spring. Pray that god will do miracles even before then. I know God mad Joel's heart and could fix it any time He wants.
Please pry for me throughout the month of September. I will be doing some heavy praying for a specific situation which has been ongoing for about five years. If you would like to partner with me in prayer, I will not share all the details, but I will share the names of those I am praying for. You can message me on Facebook at M2M-Now or by email jenniferrarrick@gmail.com, or you can text me. Please tell me your name if you text as I will not recognize the number.
I have an opportunity to possible take some young people on a missions trip. Please pray that God will help me work out the details. I am also praying for the funds to buy either a small piece of property and a house, or a polarized travel trailer. I have been saving each month, but the amount is small.
Last I ask prayer for my missions endeavors. God has laid it on my heart to go full time. This means I need to raise full time support. $2500 a month will cover cost of living when I am home in the states, and when I am traveling, I will put half towards missions and half towards my stateside funds. This will also give me a buffer for any emergency that may rise while I travel. God has been very good to me over the years I have traveled, and I have not been extremely ill, and I have only experienced a few travel delays. I am learning more and more that it is worth paying the extra for baggage, seating... when I fly.
Thank you again for your prayers and for those who support me financially.
