How in the world did I let a month and a half go by without a post? Life has been busy since Thanksgiving. At the college, we finished out the last few weeks of the semester. In my Teaching English class, the students each taught a lesson implementing the various parts of learning spoken English. I enjoyed watching them teach, and I hope in the future I will hear that they have utilized this tool that can be used to reach people with the Gospel. On the last day of each class, we had a Christmas party. We had fun watching a Christmas movie, eating snacks, and playing games.
On Christmas Eve, I went to my sister's house. I made and decorated cookies with my nieces and nephews. We made Christmas hot chocolate: hot chocolate, a scoop of mint chocolate ice cream, a squirt of whipped cream and a sprinkle of candy cane and watched a Christmas movie. On Christmas Day, after helping my sister make the dinner and load the food into my truck, I drove to her in-laws' house. I turned the truck off and laid the keys on my coat. I then proceeded to do what I always do. I locked my truck and shut the door. I went to the passenger door to get the food out, and realized I had just locked my keys in the truck. I ended calling the police, and thankfully, because it is a small town, they came and opened the door. After we finally got to eat dinner, we played games and opened presents. Christmas night, we went to church and had a Christmas party with a few church people.
On the Tuesday before Christmas week, I was able to share the Gospel via g64 gingerbread loaves a baked and gave to many of my coworkers. On that Saturday, I visited all the people I have witnessed to over the last few months and left cookies and tracts with them. Please pray that these Gospel seeds will bring about new birth in each person who received them.
Between all these fun events, I have been working with foster kids who are 18 and aging out of foster care. Some of these live an hour away, so my time has been spent on the road a lot. I make two visits a month to encourage them and help them with various needs.I have not yet had an opportunity to witness, but I am praying that God will give me an open door to do so.
I have had many answers to prayer over the last month, and God is continuing to provide for my needs.
An urgent prayer request is for a children';s home in Nepal. This home has been under the care of a man who has recently decided he no longer wants the responsibility due to the needs of his family. The man owns the property that houses the children. The couple, who have been caring for the home and children, are the sister and brother-in-law to my friend Rupa who was in the children's home I helped back in 2018. They have cared for the children without very much pay for themselves, and now that the man has finally let go of the responsibility, they need to raise support to care for the children, buy a property that will be large enough to hold the children and allow for more children to come, and support for their own needs. In the near future, I will be sending out a video and information which explains the cost to care for the kids as well as the cost to purchase a property. Would you please pray for support for this ministry, and would you please consider supporting them?
Please continue to pray for my parents health and decisions they need to make. Pray also for my nephew Joel who will begin preparing for his third heart surgery in the near future. Please pray that I can raise full-time missions support so that I will not need to come back to the states to work to support myself. Pray also that I can get my truck paid off and begin putting money towards a small piece of property.
Happy New Year
