What a busy week! Our school yearbook is done, and the first orders will arrive in two weeks. Alot of late nights payed off. I'm pretty happy with the finished product.

Beginning Wednesday, I made 80 crepes for my parent appreciation brunch today. More late nights, but definitely worth the effort. Almost all my kids had at least one parent or family member present. I gave the Gospel, so please pray that some of the parents decided to trust Christ. I had two of my students give their testimonies as well.

I am looking forward to a long weekend even though I will most likely be working on two videos for Awards Day and Graduation. Please pray that I keep my health and strength. I cannot believe how fast time is moving. I will be back in the states in less than a month.

Please pray for my ministry, my dad, and a friend's three week old baby who will have a second surgery to remove tumors.

Big Announcement!

Whew! Busy days and long nights! I have been working on the school yearbook, and I have just a few more things to finish before we place an order on Monday. Please pray we can gain more sponsors by Friday in order to keep the cost of the books at $10 for our students.

18 days of school left! Agh! Time is flying, and there is still a lot that needs to be accomplished. I am happy to say that most of my students have greatly improved in their reading skills. I still have a couple who are struggling, so please pray that they can pick up speed in the next few weeks.

Here is the big announcement...

I now have a sending church! Pastor Martinez here in Puerto Rico offered twice to be my sending church. I prayed, fasted, got some feedback from other pastors... and made my decision this week to accept his offer. It is exciting to see that missionaries are supporting other missionaries. This is what Paul's missionary churches did as well. I am excited to see where this step takes me in the future.

Please pray as I begin contacting more churches that God will open doors for me to present my ministry. There is such a need for people to go. The harvest is white unto harvest, but the laborers are few. Missionaries need extra hands to help carry the burdens of the ministry.

We had a great sunrise service, a delicious breakfast, and a full 9am service! During the first service, I sang I Have Seen the Lord. I never can sing it without getting emotional. During the second service, Anaidaly Martinez, a graduate from last year, came and gave a testimony of God's healing and saving power. She contracted Steven Johnson syndrome last year, and almost missed graduation because she was so ill. After a long year of battles, she is now recovered accept for some problems with her eyes. Because of her illness, her parents trusted Christ. What a great reminder that Christ conquered death and brought salvation.
I made smoked paprika and honey turkey, loaded mashed potatoes, resurrection rolls, and banana pudding for dinner with the Martinez family. It is nice to spend time in the family of God!

Today was a good Friday! Not just because we remember that Christ died for our sins today, but because I got to enjoy the day with my Christian family here in Puerto Rico. We had a delicious lunch of Cevichi (sp?) which was made with shrimp, lobster, and CONCH! Yes, I ate it. I'm glad I was not told what it was until after I had tried it because I probably wouldn't have eaten it. :-) We had another hot dish with the same ingredients but different seasoning, arepas, and tostones. (fried green plantains)

After lunch, we went for a drive around the southeast side of the island. The beaches are so amazingly different even though they are just a few miles apart. Near Ceiba, which is where I live, the beaches are tan to white sand and have a lot of straw from some kind of tree. One beach we saw today had black and white sand and was very sparkly. Another beach was a rocky, reef area. I also saw an old sugar mill and a lighthouse. I will post pics soon.

Tonight I am baking cinnamon rolls for breakfast. Tomorrow I will begin prepping things for Sunday dinner. We have a sunrise service, breakfast and a 9am service. I am looking forward to the day.

Next week,I will be posting a special update regarding my ministry. Please pray as I take another step of faith.

When God gives the victory...

I teach first and second graders. It is a constant battle to teach them to behave, be quiet, obey... All year, two of my students have been in constant trouble. A week ago, one of them made it through the week without getting into trouble. This week, the student was back to the usual behaviour. For the second student there has not been one day that the student was not in trouble for behaviour problems. Today, NONE of my students got in trouble for behaviour! It is a miracle! And it definitely was not anything to do with me.
